To the family of Bette Neal,
I was thinking of Bette and just now learned she passed away last year.  I am so sorry, and Vera is, as well.  Bette used to come to the Gift Shows in Seattle and became as much a friend as a customer at Avanti Fine Jewelry.  It's been years since we've been in Seattle, but we shall always remember Bette as a kind, caring, honest, astute and wonderful woman.

Bette was an amazing and courageous woman who loved life  to its fullest even as her own life was waning.  I will remember her as a witty, charming, smiling, happy, fashionable, knowledgeable, charitable, and loyal friend.  May she rest in peace.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother for your precious family. The few times that I had the pleasure to be in her company, she was so sweet and  welcoming. She was a very lovely woman and obviously touched many lives. The tribute written for her is beautiful. My love and prayers are with you all.

The first time I met Bette was at my sister Jeans wedding.  Jean said Bette was also a former military wife and from there our conversation just flowed,. ie like Jean I was a vet, where we had been stationed, about our husbands, children. Etc—— Then once again a wedding brought us together. This time Jamie and Lisa’s and her missing bracelet. We helped search, watched the vows, found a seating area and chatted for hours. Later again  we were invited over to chat with  more of the family and we just laughed, and had a grand time . I said to my hubby so glad Bette could attend, and that she looked good. I liked her the minute I met her and “SHE WS A DELIGHTFUL PERSON. 



We were so blessed when our son Fiore met Lisa and then they were married. Not only did we get a another wonderful daughter, but we became family with Bette, Jack and  their entire family. We have shared many happy times with Bette. Everyone that met Bette loved her. Bette  was a beautiful person on the outside and inside. Bette welcomed everyone into her life. This past year was a gift, not only for Bette, but for all of us. We shared many happy times together this past year. We know Bette  is in a better place. Reunited with Jack. Bette  has  joined our circle of saints, our loved ones that continue to look down on us and guide us.  Bette we will forever hold you close in our hearts. Until we meet again... XO

Bette was a gracious, charming gift to the world.
I feel so fortunate to  have gotten to know her during our study club events. Often I would arrive at the lectures with my dog, Giovanni,  and spend  the cocktail hour with her.
I am in Scotland now so I will be unable to attend her services but will send my prayers to you all.

Wow!  43 years together.  Bette Neal was always tenacious and driven. I admired her for those qualities.  Also Bette was very generous to me thru our years together. 
I loved all her stories. After telling me a Irish family story, she would question me on the details. It used to make me laugh, “ no Bette I don’t remember how many children your aunt had!”     We had some good times together cooking for the holidays, listening to,  as Jack would call it, her Irish fighting music!  
Cleaning up afterwards I would say “ Bette, flour water make paste, please don’t touch the cabinets!”  She would just look at me and laugh!!!!   I will really miss my friend!
Sleep in peace till we meet again.  Love you always.  Candy

I have so many special memories of Bette helping host dental study clubs and events at the office. She always made me smile and my respect for her family  lives on. The dental community has been benefiting from her being in it for such a long time. She will be missed by me.

Bette was always special to our family she lived with us for a year to attend school before Aunt Kathleen and Uncle Charlie moved from city to Oyster Bay  ,we were often at the house going back and forth from Aunt Evelyn's, my bridal shower was at Aunt Kathleen's, also attended Bette's wedding in DC ,with reception in Officers Club.  We would see each other at reunions and funerals ,we would not have my parents funeral until Bette arrived. So hope she is having tea with all the aunts waiting for us.

She was one of the most special women I have ever met ! From the first time she came out to NY , and I was then part of the McNamara family ,I knew she was incredible, a force !
I will miss her visits and our chats  . She had the best , fun loving attitude  and spirit.  She died as she lived , with love surrounding her.
Sending you all my thoughts and prayers , stay strong and keep happy memories flowing as  she  would want ,and deserves, nothing less. ❤️

Bette has been part of our life for 50 years. Jack replaced Jim in Frankfurt and we reconnected when they moved to Seattle. We spent Thanksgiving together with all the “ kids” for years ( including exchange students ) ski trips, dinners , desert time and 35 years of dental wife’s brunches. I will miss her so much!
She was witty, smart, fashionable, funny and a true friend.
So lucky to have spent her last birthday with her.

Thanks to Uncle Sam, who chose to send two draftee Dentists to Germany to fight the Viet Nam War, the Neals and the Bolins met.  Our group of married Captains hung out together and BETTE was the star of the show.  Everybody knew Bette and we were better for it.  We worked together, traveled together, trained together and eventually decided to live in the same city.  Maybe even practice together.  What happened was even better. Bette and Jack bought the house next door and we raised kids together.  The adventures we shared are too many to chronicle.  
 As we all agree, Bette’s laugh and smile will stay happily within us. Thanks Elizabeth. 

Condolences from the Bolin Family

My very good friend from the time we were babies in Astoria and all the good times I will miss her so. I have the memories of our calls to each other our visits and our shopping sprees. Bettie was a very special person kind and caring and loved her family so much. She will be missed by many but know she is looking down on us all.
