Ernest King

Ernest King (Ernie) was born on September 29, 1939 in Collingston, LA to the late Henry L. King and Cora Morrow. At the age of 84 Ernie passed away at home with his loving wife Ann King and his loving pet Franz by his side on December 5, 2023.

Ernie graduated from West Seattle High School. In his youth Ernie played Semi-Pro baseball for the Chicago Cubs.

He worked 34 years for Seattle Housing before retiring, as well as 3 years at Starline Luxury Coaches. Ernie was a Youth Counselor at High Point and mentored many youths in the area.

Ernie was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Renton, WA.

Ernie was a long-time resident of Renton, and he is survived by his loving wife Ann King; Brother: Raymond Brown; Sister: Evelyn Marymee (Tim); Daughters: Robbin (aka Red Robbin) Alexander, Brenda Alexander and Traci King; Sons: Damien King, Lenny King, Michael King, Christopher King and Kevin King (Julie); along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Visitation to be held Thursday, December 28, 10:00AM-5:00PM, with Funeral Service Friday, December 29, 12:00PM; all at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home 11111 Aurora Ave N. Seattle 98133.
