Ernest Randy Marino was born on November 3, 1951, in Seattle, Washington, to Carolyn and Ernesto Marino. Randy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by his unwavering loyalty and deep love for his family.
Randy’s childhood was shaped by the unbreakable bond he shared with his brothers, Marvin, Ricky, and Alfredo - a cord of four strands not easily broken, and complimented by the love of his sister, Jo Anne. Together, they formed a lifelong connection rooted in loyalty, love, and family. That same loyalty became one of the defining qualities of Randy’s life and was carried into every relationship he cherished.
At the center of Randy’s heart was the love of his life, his wife, Nancy. Randy and Nancy were a beautiful example of two people becoming one, woven together through a lifetime of love, laughter, and devotion. Randy had a wonderful sense of humor and could make Nancy laugh no matter the circumstances. Their loyalty to one another, combined with their ability to find joy and laughter together, created a love story that made everyone around them smile.
Randy’s laughter was contagious, but so was his ability to entertain. His dancing and singing left lasting impressions on everyone who knew him. And if James Brown came on, everyone knew to proceed with caution! Randy would be gliding, dancing, and moving across the room with such joy that you had no choice but to either join him or laugh along. His commitment to bringing joy to others is something that will never be forgotten.
While laughter brought Randy great joy, it was often the simple things that brought him peace. A perfect day would feature being near the water, fishing pole baited and ready to reel in the next catch, or simply soaking up the sunshine while perfecting his famous “rotisserie tan.” For Randy, fishing was about much more than the sport itself. It was time to slow down, reflect, and spend time with God. Those peaceful moments were sacred to him, and his faith was woven into the way he experienced the world around him.
He loved ending those peaceful days by watching his little hummingbirds visit and sip the sweet water he lovingly prepared for them. These quiet moments reflected Randy’s appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and God's creation.
Randy’s attention to detail in the kitchen and his love of sharing food with others were unmatched. A meal prepared in the Marino kitchen was more than just food - it was love served on a plate. Cooking was Randy’s love language, a gift he had been sharing since childhood, when he would cook for his brothers. Through food, he expressed care, generosity, and love for the people who mattered most to him.
Randy leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy; his children, Cory and his wife, Valerie; Brieah; Tisha and her husband, William King. He also leaves behind two of the greatest gifts he believed God had given him - his cherished grandchildren, Abby and Quintin, whom he held close to his heart.
Randy will be remembered for his big heart, his unforgettable sense of humor, his dancing, his love of cooking, his hummingbirds, his peaceful days by the water, and the countless ways he brought joy to those around him. Most of all, he will be remembered for the tremendous love he had for his family.
Though his family will miss his presence beyond words, Randy’s love will continue to live on - in every family gathering, every shared dance, every meal prepared with love, every song that brings a smile, every laugh shared together, and every quiet moment spent by the water.
Perhaps Randy’s next fishing trip is with God, where the waters are peaceful, the sun is always shining, and there is always another fish waiting to be caught.
Ernest Randy Marino was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed. His life was a gift, his laughter was a blessing, and his love will remain with his family and all who knew him - forever.
