

Eugene Stanley Hardison, 77, passed away in Spokane, Washington on December 14, 2018. He was born on March 16, 1941 in Woodworth, Louisiana. Eugene was preceded in death, by his parents Kenneth & Mary Hardison of Woolworth, Louisiana; brothers Albert Leroy Hardison, (Joyce) of Seattle, Washington and Thomas Hardison of Woodworth, Louisiana; sisters, Kenneth Lee Green (Jessie) of Weed, California; Frances Loraine Smith (James) of Cleveland, Ohio; Aplis Ruth Faibvre of Seattle, Washington; and step grandson, D'Maine Dugar of Kent, Washington.
Eugene grew up in a loving and Christian home where he accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the Reverend Huey P. Lawson of Bright Morning Star Baptist Church in Jett Hill, Louisiana. His early years were spent on the farm of his parents, where he would help with farm work, such as; bucking horses, plowing the fields, milking cows, chopping wood and picking cotton, just to name a few, among many other farm chores that need to be done. It was very hard work and this earned him the nick name "Horse". Eugene attended Cater C. Raymond High School in Lecompte, Louisiana and in 1960 after high school he moved to Seattle, Washington to live with his sister Joann, and near his brother Leroy and other family members. Eugene became a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Seattle, Washington under the leadership of Reverend Samuel B. McKinney. He worked various jobs and eventually settled in at becoming a laborer in the construction field. Eugene loved baseball and was an avid baseball player. He played with the Seattle Rainiers when the team was located on Rainer Avenue, at "Stick Stadium" (where Lowes is now located). His positon was "Back Catcher". He loved all sports, classic cars, playing dominoes, card games, family, and talking about old times. Eugene was a generous and kind person. He prayed the sinners pray on November 29, 2018 during his hospital stay at Providence Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane, Washington where he passed away.
He is survived by his wife Paula Hardison, of Spokane, Washington; son, Marcus Hardison, of Seattle, Washington; daughter Marci Jean Engelhart of Granite Falls, Washington; stepsons Joshua Reed of Spokane, Washington, Leon Reed of Spokane, Washington, Leroy (Chucky) Dugar III of, Kent, Washington and Michael Dugar-Hardison (Kelly) of Federal Way, Washington; grandson Marquias Hardison of Auburn, Washington; step-grandsons Keonjay Reed, of Spokane, Washington; Demetrius Dugar of Kent, Washington; step-granddaughters Shellyn Moore of Maple Valley, Washington and Kiajene Roberts of Arizona; and several step-greatgrandchildren; sisters Joann Buchannan of Seattle, Washington; Jean Deloris Ward of Sylmar California; Maude Jimerson (Richard) of Renton Washington; and Mary Ellis (Robert) of Sylmar California; also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
