
He was born in Brooklyn, New York, December 13th, 1927, to Thomas and Julia Macellari. He entered Military service after High School Graduation and served four years. During Military service, he met his future wife Joyce Lofgreen. They married on March 28th, 1950 and settled in Boise, Idaho. Eugene apprenticed as a lithographer from 1953 - 1957 and moved his family to Seattle, Washington in 1958. He worked as a lithographer until he was elected President of the Lithographers Local Union, and served in that capacity for 20 years. He was then hired by the Lithographers International Union and retired in 1991 after 11 years as an International Organizer. Joyce and Eugene have six children: Scott, Mark, Paul, wife Karen, David wife Cathleen, Daniel, wife Janneth, and Jason. They also have seven grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at Saint Pius X Church, 22301 58th Avenue West, Mountlake Terrace, Washington, on Friday, May 21st at 10:30 AM.
