
Frank died peacefully at Providence Everett Medical Center Hospice on January 12, 2008 with his wife Jeri by his side.
He was born on June 22, 1923 in Eagle Butte, South Dakota to Frank B. and Grace M. Wilde Jones. In 1936 the family moved to Humboldt County, California. After graduating from Arcata Union High School. Frank served in the National Guard where he spent a year or so guarding bridges in southern Humboldt County. In 1943 he was inducted into the U.S. Army. He served in the North African and Italy campaigns as a sergeant in the military police. After the war he was stationed at Fort Lawton. He met and married Claramae Lincoln. Two sons were born of this union.
Frank became a Seattle Police Officer on February 16, 1947. He was a motorcycle officer for 11 years. He loved his Harley. He also worked patrol and was promoted to detective in 1961. He worked in several units including robbery and fugitive units. He retired on February 16, 1972 after 25 years of service. Frank was a member of RAP, WSROSPOA, International Footprint Association and the Elks.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and a brother Owen. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jeri. Also survived by former wife Claramae, sons David and Richard Jones, step-children Steve and Debra, sister Betty J Eddy Hastings, brother Kenneth Jones, three grandchildren, three step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and friends to numerous to name. He will be missed by many. May he rest in peace. All are invited to Frank's memorial service on March 13th, 2008.
