Fusako was born in Seattle to Shizuto Terao, and Asano Nagao. After high school our mother worked until her family moved to Utah where she met and later married Hiroshi Mito. Together they had a son, Bob. Fusako went on to work for the Federal Civil Service Commission, and after retiring from the government, she worked for her son as his office manager.
Our mother was a great cook! No one ever turned down one of Mom's invitations for dinner. Her Japanese cuisine was simply the best. She also was an incredible baker and we lived for her cookies and pies. Mom never said "no" when we needed help with our children, and she always brought a sense of peace and love when she was with us. She was a woman of grace and love and kept a comfortable home for her family and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. She loved them all!
Bob was very happy that when he started his medical practice his mother had retired from the Federal Government and became his office manager. She did an amazing job. Mom worked for Bob for ten years then permanently retired. She subsequently moved to Nikkei Manor and was a resident there for several years until she suffered a heart attack and needed more care. The last few weeks of her life were spent in Keiro. She received excellent care at both Nikkei Manor and Keiro and the family is very appreciative of the staffs' care and concern.
Those of us that visited mom towards the end got to hear her sing and laugh. Even as she lost her strength, she had the best sense of humor and love for each of us. We loved her dearly and will miss her in our lives but mom will stay in our hearts forever. Thank you for all that you gave us, we all know how great a mother's love can be because of you.
