Gary was born on September 10, 1944 in Seattle. He graduated from Ingraham High School in 1962. He attended Everett Junior College (now Everett Community College) from 1962 to 1964. Gary finished his college career in 1992 by graduating from the University of Maryland, European division with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
His first employment was as a caddy at the Seattle Golf club. He worked weekends and summers there from 1958 to 1962. He worked for a few years at the Seattle Police Department as a Cadet before he moved to Alaska in 1968.
Gary came back to Seattle and joined the army to be a medic. In January of 1970 he was sent to Germany where he met his future wife and the love of his life Eva. They started their life together in Germany where they shared their love of travel. They visited different destinations every year enjoying the local food, culture and sunshine. They loved to play tennis and enjoyed skiing. They also loved to visit family in Seattle every few years.
Gary was honorably discharged from the Army. He then went to work as a civilian for the Air Force at Rhein Main Airbase as a purchasing agent. In November 1993 he decided to come back to Seattle to be with his aging mother. His wife Eva joined him the following spring.
In Seattle Gary went to work at a Dental lab in Fremont, and later a lab in at Issaquah. He retired in 2008 and enjoyed every bit of his new life. He and Eva traveled the USA and also to his beloved Germany in the summers. In the winter he liked to escape the rain in Seattle and enjoy the sunshine in Palm Springs.
Gary was an avid walker. He enjoyed his daily walks at Golden Gardens where he made a lot of friends. He also loved his cats, Stromer and Thomas.
Gary died peacefully of heart failure on November 19th with his wife Eva by his side.
