
GARY BURTON WADDINGHAM went to be with the Lord October 26, 2001. Gary was born October 29, 1930 and was a lifelong Seattle resident. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era, earning the National Defense Service Medal, U.S. Army Occupation Medal Germany, U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Parachutist Badge. After leaving the Army, Gary worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. He was a distinguished, well-liked mail carrier in the Laurelhurst area. After retiring from the Postal Service in 1986, he worked part-time for the View Ridge Pharmacy. After Gary was an avid baseball fan and authored a book on the subject in 1987 entitled ''The Seattle Rainiers: 1938-1942''. He was a member of the Society of American Baseball Research. He also earned a BA degree from the University of Washington in 1986. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Harris Waddingham, and is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 41 years; son Daniel daughter-in-law Laurie, daughter Julie son-in-law Ronald, mother Rachel Frances Waddingham, sister Judy Ann Bruner, and grandchildren Matthew, Jennifer, and Jeffrey Waddingham; Rebecca, Travis, Rian, Joelle, and Shannon Miller. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2001 at Northgate Gospel Chapel, 14330 15th Ave NE, Seattle, WA. Phone 206 363-3366.
