Feeling especially grateful for Gerald on this Thanksgiving day, honoring his pride as a not only a Seattleite, engineer, Irishman, and veteran, but also a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. May his beloved family and all who have known him be comforted as he lives on in all our memories of love.

Gerald was such a gentle and bright soul! I had so many fond memories doing activities with him. He had so much fun getting messy during cooking creations, showing off his silly and rambunctious side during morning exercise, and using his mechanical genius to solve puzzles. I loved singing with Gerald. He will forever hold a place in my heart and I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with him.

I have a lot of memories with Gerald. He was my favorite resident and I wasn't shy about letting everyone know that. We have his college photo in the kitchen. We would enjoy snacks brought by Cecelia in the Life's Neighborhood courtyard, have milkshakes during our happy hour, create yummy food during our cooking creations, and sometimes we would just sit in his apartment and talk about whatever came to mind. My two favorite memories of him were just simple encounters but they would always give me a big smile because they were just classic Gerald sayings. I remember one day he and I were outside in the front walkway sweeping the sidewalk and he told me that his daughters had started a committee to keep him from climbing ladders. The second memory was when he sang God Bless America and teared up. It was truly an honor to get to know him all these years. He was a great man and we will definitely miss him.

Gerald was a kind and gentle soul who always had something positive to share. He was beloved by the staff and residents alike and will be sorely missed. It was our true pleasure to know him and serve him and his devoted family at Aegis of Lynnwood. We take comfort that he is now in Heaven with wife Martha, the love of his life. Words cannot express our deepest sympathy for Cecelia, Teresa and Jeffrey and the entire Griffin family.

Papa, You are my SUNSHINE!
I will miss your Smile, Hugs, Laughs and Kindness.
I feel your LOVE each and every day.
RIP Papa!
