Gerald "Jerry" was born in Yakima, Washington to George and Myrtle (Vail) Pickens. In 1951 he married Jeanie Mollet, originally a childhood neighbor from Selah,WA, he reconnected with years later on a blind date. The newlyweds then moved to Seattle to start Jerry's new job at Boeing. He attended Yakima Valley Community College and finished his education at the University of Washington, graduating in 1956 with a degree in Business Administration while working at Boeing and starting his family. He proudly retired from Boeing 37 years later as a supervisor in the Planning Dept./Interior Payloads for the 747 aircraft. He so loved his family and friends. Jerry and Jeanie had five children in the years 1952-1961 and in 1965 the family moved to a larger home in Bothell. One of his greatest pleasures was to entertain, hosting countless gatherings-always with an open door and a readiness to set another plate at the table at any time. He was a dedicated, gentle, fun, generous, and loving husband, dad, uncle, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend. Jerry loved to fish, camp and be outdoors. He was athletic and enjoyed many sports and activities/games. He loved tennis above all and played regularly most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary; brother, George; and son, Craig. Jerry is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Wayne (Dina); daughter, Teri Parsons (Bill); son, Brian (Merrie); daughter Janine Tomlinson (Scott); ten beloved grandchildren; seven beautiful great-grandchildren; and many other much-loved family members - all of whom will forever remember him with great love and admiration.
