Jerry or Jerrilou, as she was commonly known was born in Butte, Montana to Arthur and Beatrice (Rawls) Comerford. As a young girl Jerry's family moved into the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. She attended John B. Allen Elementary school and Ballard High School. After a year at Whitman College Jerry returned to Seattle and trained as a dental assistant in the office of Dr. Leonard Cohen and attended night classes at the UW School of Dentistry where she met Joe Grillo who was studying as a dental student. Jerry and Joe were married on the 23rd of June 1956 and spent the next two years with the US army in historical Pennsylvania. Returning to the Seattle area where they established their home and dental practice in Burien, where they raised their two children Michael and Carmell. Jerry enjoyed being a "stay at home" wife and mother, she played a lot of bridge with her friends and neighbors. In the summer her recreation was back-packing and boating in the winter it was skiing, all of which she enjoyed doing with her family. One of her proudest achievements was hiking the Chilkoot Trail.
In August of 1991 Jerry and Joe sold their dental practice and slid seamlessly into the joys and challenges of retirement, taking care of one another and "living large". They took long road trips across the US and Canada, and trips with our boat filled most of the summers. A ski trip to Europe was the highlight of many winters. The move to Judson Park Retirement Community in 2008 reduced the housekeeping chores and was a wonderful life style changer. We made many new friends here.
Jerry desired no end of life service; Just treasure your memories!
