She married Frank Brooks shortly after high school, and this marriage produced three children. She stayed in the Cleveland area, until she followed her parents to Washington in 1947. When she arrived, she helped her parents manage the Shady Beach Resort at Juanita Beach in Kirkland, WA. After their marriage ended in the late 1950?s, she met the love of her life, Jay Harris. They were married, and spent 40 happy years together until Jay?s passing in 2000. Soon after the wedding to Jay, two more children came along and together they raised all 5 children. Just as the kids were moving out, and grandkids were coming along, they were welcomed with open arms to a loving home. Many happy memories were made over there with them through the years. How fortunate we?ve been to have such an admirable mom and grandma to guide us along life?s path. Grace had a love for all things and always put others before herself. She was a quick-witted woman with a sense of humor that you couldn?t help but smile at. Irreplaceable and like no other, Grace?s passing leaves an empty void in our hearts and lives that will last forever. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Evelyn, her brother, Paul, and her one true love, Jay. She is survived by 5 children - Carolyn, Pat Wanda, Mark Debbie, Shar Joe, and Pam Brad, and 8 grandchildren, Samantha, Arian, Aaron Leslie, Nicole Keith, Ashley, Justine, Tyler, and Patrick. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of Madelyn, her first great-grandchild. Along with family, Grace leaves behind numerous friends whom will never know another quite like her. We find comfort in knowing that she is once again reunited with Dad, as she wished.
Mom, Grandma, ?Framma?, and Friend:
We miss you.
We love you.
- Forever.
