

Griff D Tilmont was born in Seattle, Washington on October 8th, 1951 to Marion Winnifred Griffiths, and Gaillard Tilmont, and died peacefully on August 28, 2026, due to complications from Glioblastoma.
Griff attended Roosevelt High School, and afterwards joined the US Air Force. He served for 4 years, in Vietnam, and 2 years in the Reserves.
He was then employed by the Seattle Times newspaper, and worked as a District Manager for 37 years, winning several awards. Griff and his wife, Anne, met at the Seattle Times, and married in 1986. They honeymooned through the Panama Canal, the first of many cruises, and vacations, especially to Maui, Hawaii. Summers were spent on Penn Cove, Whidbey Island, crabbing, and gathering together with neighbors and friends. Griff loved barbecuing, cooking, telling stories, and entertaining.
Griff was also an avid Seahawks fan, and was a Charter Member for 50 years. Griff was always active, playing competitive softball, basketball, and pickleball. He was a mentor, and a team leader. Griff also enjoyed going to concerts, and talking with people wherever he went. Griff was warm, outgoing, funny, and a loving, devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Anne, daughters Gina Marie Smith (Bryan); Grace Anne Tilmont (Yannick); and sister Gail (Floyd).
Griff’s family will gather privately to honor and celebrate his life.
