Lori had a long, challenging, and successful life. She escaped from Eastern Germany after World War II at age 19. She married Walter Weber in 1948 (who passed away in February 2008). They came to America in 1955 From Vienna, Austria with their two young children: Walter, Jr., and Bernie.
Lori and her family started a new life in Seattle. She worked tirelessly caring for her children and those of others while supporting her husband as he completed his education at the University of Washington and began his CPA practice. She then worked side by side with her husband as the CPA practice grew as well as anywhere else she could from managing real estate to helping in the family restaurant.
Lori was the rock of the Weber family, loving, nurturing, and encouraging to her boys, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law and anyone else who was lucky enough to be a part of her life.
After her husband passed away Lori entered a new phase of her life. She took yearly trips to Maui with her girlfriends, cruises with her family, enjoyed lunches with the girls at Swanson's Nursery, Sunday dinners with family, and she was always gardening. She did what she wanted and did it her way. She was never one to miss a soccer or baseball game of her grandchildren and always one who cherished seeing her great-grandchildren. She was fortunate to return to Germany in March seeing her family along with childhood friends one last time as she mourned her brother's passing. Lori lived a very full life and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Lori left us unexpectedly and too soon, but she was fiercely independent to the end just as she wanted. She leaves behind son Walt, Jr., his wife Mary and their children; Ben, married to Kara and their children, Will, (6) and Gus (3) and Liz and her daughter, Vivian (4); son Bernie, his wife Susan and their children, Steven (17), and Erika (12). She also leaves behind many dear friends.
