Helen was born in Yakima, Washington but shortly after her parents moved to Renton. They later moved to Seattle. When Helen was in high school she met the love of her life Bob Brunsdon, they were married shortly after his return from the US Air Force.
They lived in Seattle for the first few years. While in Seattle they had Pandora (Panda), their first daughter. They then moved to Kirkland once the new house was completed in 1963. Kimberley, their second daughter, was born right after moving in. Then last but not least came Veronica (Roni), their third daughter, completing our family of five. Now for a little more about Helen.
She did different jobs over the course of her life like wearing roller skates to deliver food to cars, working in retail at companies like Eagles or Lowe's hardware, to the US Navy in their restaurant, plus being a stay-at-home mom when she could be. Then during the seventies she helped her sick mom.
She was a crafty person when her girls were young she would make Barbie clothes that were better than what could be purchased. She did crewel works of art that Bob would make frames for, many were entered into the fair for judging, and many ribbons were given. She would make cakes for birthdays that Bob would decorate. At one point she bought a scroll saw and did scroll saw art. She did tole painting and made gifts for people. She did a lot of sewing and gardening over the years, her creativity spurred all of us to be creative.
Since Bob and Helen wanted to be together and as their medical conditions changed, they ended up moving into Laurel Cove Assisted Living. They were happily married for 66 years. Bob died 3 weeks earlier.
She loved the family and will be missed by Panda, Kim, and Roni and their spouses; the grandkids Kristin, Jillian, Bethany, Jennifer, and Ryan. And the great grandkids Addison, Esme, Maeve, Sophia, Emelia, Santiago, and Jude. Her sister's Roberta and Ilene and their family's will also miss her and all the extended friends and family.
