Helen Elaine Shuffelen, of Kirkland, was born on February 26, 1941 in Seattle, the daughter of John E. and Helen Margaret (Samson) Dattilo. She began her career with Sundstrand Data Control and retired in 2005 with 30 years of service. Elaine was a master gardener and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her and she opened her home up to everyone, welcoming them as part of the family. Elaine is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff Shuffelen of Clallam Bay and Rich and Tina Thompson of Longview; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie Dewaele of Centrailia and Lori and Paul Lipp of Everett; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Nathan, Billy, Erin, Kelli, Briauna and Cody; nine great-grandchildren.
