Irene and her husband, Bob, lived in Puyallup for 33 years and raised their three children there.
Irene enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, cooking, ceramics, and reading. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #1949.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Floyd Robert ''Bob'' Silvis. She is survived by her son, Larry Silvis and his wife, Shirley, of Dundee, Oregon; daughters, Patricia Carter and her husband, Alan, of Kirkland, and Vicki Gerth and her husband, Greg, of Ocean Shores; sister, Betty Olson, of Tacoma. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Michael Silvis and his wife, Nikki, Chad Silvis, Crystal Silvis, and Mariah Gerth; and one great-granddaughter, Morgan Silvis.
A memorial service to celebrate Irene's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, at Sumner Voiles Funeral Home, 15124 Main Street in Sumner.
Inurnment at Tahoma National Cemetery.
