Jack (79) passed away on March 26, 2014 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Jack was the third of four children born to John and Nell Shubic. An independent child, Jack bought his first car, a 1929 Desoto, at the age of 13; and at 17 joined the Army. Jack served in Korea where he worked his way to becoming a Sergeant in the 17th Regiment of the Wolfhound Division. .After serving his country, Jack became a successful salesman, earning enough to eventually own his own business, a bakery. Later, Jack went to work for Sid Eland Distributing, where he was a leading sales rep for over 38-years. Jack was happiest spending time in his garden or relaxing on the patio with a glass of wine. Jack was known for his sense of humor, great storytelling, generosity to family and friends and his interest in politics. He is survived by his loving family, wife Hattie Longmire, his children Michael, Carylee Stone and Susanne de la Flor and sisters Pat Jazbec and Julie Monson At his request no service will be held.
