12/12/1920-10/13/2009
After a month long illness Jim has left us. He left behind his wife, Arline after 53 years of marriage. He left behind his daughter, Maria, his two stepdaughters, Kathleen and Janet, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, and his fat cat Niles.
Jim was born in Seattle and graduated from Broadway High School. He joined the Navy in 1939 and was in Manila when the Japanese declared war. He left the Service after the war, then eventually decided to rejoin, this time in the Air Force. He was stationed at McChord AFB when he and Arline met. They were married August 3, 1956. Life in the military was quite an adventure for his wife and daughters, leading them to 3 years in Germany, 3 years in Japan, 1 year in Key West, Florida before retiring and coming home. He loved to tap dance. For 10 years he tapped with a senior group. He was famous with family, friends and B&B guests for his sourdough waffles. He was superb as a genial host to any guest. A mister fixit, he could repair anything with a little string and duct tape.
