

Born June 12th, 1924 Jim joined his beloved wife Irene and daughter Cathie on December 23rd, 2017 in heaven at the age of 93. He is survived by his sister Jean and daughters Donna and Jean. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Jim was a graduate of West Seattle High School where he lettered in hockey. Upon graduation he served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Fondulac where he manned a 20mm gun and ran the ships store. Proud of his service he left the navy as a Seaman 2nd class and upon returning from the war worked for Pacific NW Bank Note which later became United Graphics. Employed there for 39 years Jim was a skilled lithographer who performed layouts for high quality print jobs.
Jim met his childhood sweetheart Irene at 8 years of age and later proposed to and married her on July 16th, 1948.
Beside being a devoted and caring husband and father Jim enjoyed a vast number of hobbies including woodworking, camping, fishing, skiing and gardening. He was also an avid movie buff from the time he was very young often referring to when movies used to cost a nickel. Along with his brothers and sisters he owned water front vacation property on Vashon Island where he and his family spent much of their time together.
Jim served as as an active member of the West Seattle VFW and was also Chairman of the USS Fondulac reunion committee.
He will be missed by all and his legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren.
