

Jason Wong was born on January 20, 1949 to Ming Wai Wong and Pit Yiu Wong in Canton, China. He moved to Hong Kong in his early childhood years before immigrating to the US in 1964 as a teenager. He received his high school diploma from Garfield High and through the years continued his love for music and piano taking classes at Shoreline Community College.
As a young adult, Jason took on numerous wait staff positions initially at the family Empress Restaurant then subsequently Ying Hei, Four Seas and a few other Chinese restaurants before joining the United States Postal Service in 1978. Through the years at the Postal Office, he made many good friends and finally after 40+ years of dedicated service, he officially retired in March 2019.
Jason was the epitome of a caring, kind, and compassionate person. We will deeply miss his warm smile and contagious laughter. Jason departed this life on January 18, 2024, and is survived by older sisters, Boy King Lee and Lai King Yee, older brother, Wing Kain Wong and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
