
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Jean Norma Ammon passed away peacefully March 9, 2002. Jean was born April 11, 1926 in Coeur D? Alene, Idaho. Daughter of Floyd H. Osborn and Eda Olive Black Osborn. She grew up in Portland, Oregon, graduating from Vestal Elementary School and Commerce High School. After graduation, Jean went to work for the Oregon Journal Newspaper as a secretary. She married George Thomas Ammon on June 5, 1947. They both wanted a dozen children, they only had eleven. Jean raised her family in Oregon, Washington, and later in Philadelphia, PA. Tom Ammon died in 1971, in Philadelphia, PA, leaving Jean a young widow with eight children still at home. It was strong faith and commitment to her Christian Science Religion that always helped Jean through tough situations. She went back to school to become a Christian Science nurse. She cared fro her children and worked as a nurse at High Oakes Care Center in Pennsylvania for twenty years. After retiring she bought a motor home and traveled across the country visiting her family and seeing many National Parks. She also traveled to Central America and Europe. She then settled in Edmonds, Washington. Where she worked as a visiting nurse, as well as working at Sunrise Haven nursing home. Jean Ammon was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Thelma Osborn Gage, brother Donald Floyd Osborn, husband Tom Ammon and sons Timothy and Thomas Ammon. Jean is survived by her sister Barbara Osborn Miller of Oregon; daughters June, Jill, Janice, Teddie, Wendy, Jaye, Joy and Jeanette; son Troy Ammon; sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 17, 2002 4pm to 6pm at Edmonds Floral Center, 201 4th Ave. N. Edmonds, WA 98020.
