Jean Margaret Galbraith Bell was born in Glasgow Scotland in 1924. She attended University in Glasgow earning English and Teaching degrees. During World War II Jean served at His Majesty’s Antisubmarine Establishment where she met her future husband, Professor Peter Wootton. Peter and Jean emigrated with their two small children to Houston Texas, later moving to the Seattle area. Jean was an accomplished homemaker during her three children’s school years but later in life became a top Windermere real estate agent in Seattle. She was a founding member of The Daughters Of The British Empire group and was famous for her Scottish shortbread. Jean was a keen bridge player, avid Judge Judy and Jeopardy fan, poet, voracious reader and wordsmith. Friends and family will remember her for her “Scottish-isms” and Celtic sense of humor.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations are made to Jean's favorite charity, Smile Train.
