
Jeanette Rae Taylor McDANIEL Age 81, passed away peacefully August 18, 2006 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Jean was born in Everett, Washington April 23, 1925 to Harry Raymond Taylor of Bellingham and later of Queen Anne Hill with Wallace Katherine "Babe" Garvey Taylor and Geraldine Wheeler Taylor Ewing and later of Martha Lake with Claude Ewing. Her father was a Brewmaster at Rainier Beer for 30 years and her step-mother was a bookkeeper for Horlick's Ice Cream of Seattle for as many. Jean attended Vashon High School where she met her love and future husband, Donald Gray Paton of Seattle, and graduated from Vashon High School in 1943. Don and Jean were married in 1944. Jean's first job was at the Paramount Theatre as an usherette. She worked many years at Fircrest School and for West Coast Wholesale Drug and retired in 1988 after 18 years as a medical transcriptionist for The Eye Clinic of Bellevue. At retirement she moved to her beloved "Big House" overlooking the Dungeness Spit in Sequim. Jean was beloved by and a good friend to many people during her life. She was preceded in death by two sons, Allen Eugene McDaniel and Michael Gregory McDaniel, and a nephew, Timothy McDaniel. Jean is survived by her son, Donald G. Paton, Jr. Wendy of Alger and daughter, Sandra Oliver-Klatt Ray of Seattle; aunt and uncle, George and Marie Taylor and their three sons and families; granddaughters, Shannon David Jurpik of Seattle; Jennifer Don Almer of Blaine; Heather Jeanette Paton of Portland OR; and Willow James Yoder of Seattle; grandson, Miles Gray Paton; great grandsons, Aiden Gray Jackson and Dawson Robert Almer; and great grandaughter, Jillian Rae Yoder. Family will meet in late September to inter her ashes with those of her sons at Evergreen Washelli. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Skagit County Hospice. The family would like to thank the poeple of Birchview Memory Care Center in Sedro Woolley for their tender loving care.
