Jestin Shane Larson

Jestin Shane Larson of Seattle, passed away May 18th, 2024. He was born in Seattle to Doris Lynn Larson and Philip Scalice. He is survived by his Mother Doris, Stepfather Randy, siblings Tyler, Matthew and Lacy, Grandmother Sonja Larson, Uncle Eddie, and many cousins.

Jestin lived most of his life in Seattle, first with his mother and later with his Grandma Sonja. Sonja was a very big part of Jestin's life helping to raise him and mitigate his mental and physical health challenges. At a young age, the family learned Jestin had developmental disabilities to overcome as well as a lupus diagnosis. Still, Jestin was a very active young boy and rose to these challenges by embracing life and finding things he could enjoy and be good at. Jestin was a whiz with computer code and loved to read - especially Harry Potter. He loved to go camping, fish, bake, and spend time with family - especially with his Grandma. He particularly enjoyed holiday gatherings. Jestin was as headstrong as he was gentle and thoughtful of others. He always kept an eye out for a resource that might help others.

Jestin's health began to decline in 2014 due to kidney functioning and lupus. Still, he made the best of his time in and outside of the hospital. He listened to audio books everyday, watched family and children's movies, but best of all, each week he got to see his Grandma and her caregiver Kat (part of the family!) and play Uno and have a nice visit with warmth, love and good laughs.

He will be deeply missed by our family and his friends.

Leticia & her husband, owners of the Adult Family Home Jestin resided his last 9 months. They were very kind, attentive, patient and worked very hard to give Jestin the best care.

Marcia, Jestin's former roomate who kindly and selflessly helped Jestin manage living on his own, with managing money, medications and so many other aspects of his life.
