

John Peter Tveit was born on May 28, 1960 to the parents of John Tveit (Fitjar, Norway) and Cora Josephine (Noss) Tveit (Gary, Minnesota) in Seattle, Washington. He had an older sister Martha who passed away in 2014. He leaves behind his sister Carol, wife Miriam, family and friends in Norway and in the USA.
John went to Loyal Heights Elementary, Marcus Whitman Jr. High, and graduated from Ballard High School in 1979. From a very early age John loved to make boats and airplanes out of Balsa wood. Later he built model airplanes and military vehicles and dioramas for them. It was no surprise that he joined the U.S. Navy after he graduated from High School. After Boot Camp in San Diego, Ca., he was stationed in Gulf Port, Mississippi. John was deployed to Puerto Rico, Diego Garcia, Guam, and Rota, Spain. He was then stationed at the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island, Wa., where he was discharged after 7 years of Service.
After the Navy, John was hired to work for Jergens Construction Company doing carpentry work. He was in his element, demolishing and then rebuilding million dollar plus homes for 19 1/2 years.
In September of 1997, John married Miriam Graves and was married for 27 years. John loved pets, traveling, board games, singing in his church choir, studying the Bible, reading, and Trivia.
In 2009 John had the first of his health problems, starting with a heart attack. Four years later he was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease and prostate cancer. John had many struggles, physically and emotionally in his life. John took his life on July 1, 2024 at 64 years of age.
No matter what struggles or depression John was going through, he loved God and his Lord Jesus Christ. He is now home and in the arms of his Lord and Savior. He is surrounded by his Dad, Mom, sister, family and friends that has gone before him. He is loved and remembered as a brother in Christ.
