

Karen was born at home August 10th 1936, to Robert and Irma Knudson in Loma, N.D. Her childhood was in North Dakota, Puyallup, and then finally in Ellensburg where she attended high school. After graduation from Ellensburg High school she moved to Seattle.
At 20 years old she married and moved to Alaska where her daughter Tammy was born. Two years later, she moved back to Washington where she met Jerry Baxter, remarried, and Eric was born in 1961. During their 19 years of marriage Jerry was a Washington State Patrolman and there began Karen's journey of moving and raising her family around much of Washington State. After it was time to move on from that relationship Karen met Ron Hamilton and his children Jodi, Ronnie, Barry, Julie and Lynn and was married to Ron 19 years, of whom she referred to as the "love of her life". It was Karen's request to be laid to rest next to Ron here at Evergreen-Washelli.
Karen spent her adult years working as a bookkeeper, accountant, and did payroll for various companies. She retired after working for Shannon & Wilson in Fremont from 1990 to 2007.
Karen kept herself very busy in retirement spending time with her family and friends attending symphonies, plays, going on walks, movies, traveling, lunches and living life to the fullest.
Karen is survived by her sister Marsha, brothers Dale and Lynn, daughter Tammy, son Eric, her 8 grandchildren Dinah, Ricky, Robbie, Renick, David, Justin, Tori and Callie, three great-grandchildren Jayawna, Tiana, and Nevaeh, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, Auntie Maxine and Uncle Buzz.
Karen will always be remembered for her love of family, sense of humor, adventurous spirit, love for travel, and the joy and love she brought to every relationship.
