Karen Elizabeth Ward 22 died at her home on Oct. 23. 2003 after a long illness. Karen was born Nov. 28, 1980 in Newark, Delaware to David R. Ward and Annette Carol Ward. Karen graduated from Shorecrest High School in 1998 where she was a member of the marching band and an editor of the school literary magazine. She attended the University of Washington and graduated in 2002 with a bachelors degree in Psychology and a deep desire to help those with mental and emotional disorders. At the time of her death, she was employed by Community Psychiatric Services at Cascade Hall as a mental health case manager. Karen loved music of all types and was an accomplished poet.
Karen is survived by her loving parents David and Annette Ward of Shoreline, Washington, her grandmother, Shirley H. Ward of Shoreline, WA, her uncles Richard Ward of Seattle and Lee Griffith of North Carolina and her aunts Nancy Deonigi of California, Jacquelin Hild of Maryland, Jean Kempe of Virginia. Karen was our beloved child and will live forever in our hearts.
