

Karsten was born on July 12, 1994, in Seattle, Washington to Laura Maxine (Bratvold) Trabucco and Craig Christopher Filion. He lived in North Beach and attended King’s Elementary School. In 2003 he moved to Innis Arden where Karsten attended Sunrise Elementary, Einstein Middle School, and Shorewood High School. Karsten’s favorite subjects in school were auto-shop and recess. When Karsten was 16 he got his first job at Chuck Olson Chevrolet as a lot boy. The dealership was impressed with Karsten’s work ethic and mechanical knowledge and offered him a scholarship to Shoreline Community College.
Karsten received his ASEP certification in 2014 and worked most recently at Speedway Chevrolet, where he recently received his 7-year pin. Karsten’s other passion was spending time with his circle of great friends riding timber sleds, motorcycles, or boating. Karsten had a passion and lifelong love of dogs, his constant companions. His most recent was Baby, a very loveable pit bull, and Ruxin, a Jack Russell.
Karsten worked hard, played hard and loved deeply. He packed in a lot of life in his 27 years.
Karsten, our lives will never be the same without you. We will love you and miss you forever.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Bratvold, and Lester Filion, and his uncle, Gary Filion. He is survived by his mother Laura Trabucco and sister Kelsey Trabucco, father Craig Filion, grandmothers Maxine Bratvold and Virginia Filion, aunt and uncles Karl and Vicki Bratvold and aunt Michon Filion, cousins Kristoffer and Tristan Bratvold and Jerrica Johnson.
A memorial Service for Karsten will be held on February 26, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, 7500 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA. 98103. Following the service, a Celebration of Karsten's Life will be held at 3:30 pm at Ray’s Boathouse - Northwest Room, 6049 Seaview Ave NW, Seattle, WA. 98107
