Katherine Louise Osier, known to her loved ones as Kate, passed away on December 9, 2023, in Shoreline, WA, at the age of 84. She was born on May 9, 1939, in Sterling, MA, to her parents E. Virginia King Henault and Norman Henault.
Kate was a devoted Christian and found solace in her faith. In her later years, she was an active member of a Lutheran church and community. She grew up in the Catholic faith, where she was Baptized and received Holy Communion and Confirmation.
Kate was a loving and generous person who cherished her family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for children and dedicated herself to their care and well-being. Kate's warm and caring nature extended to everyone she knew. She never forgot a birthday and would always send a card with a heartfelt handwritten note. Her thoughtfulness and loyalty endeared her to many.
Kate was the family documentarian. She always had her camera ready at any family gathering. We are grateful for all the memories she captured on film.
Kate cherished her pets of which she had many throughout the years. She adored her dogs Precious and Cinnamon who kept her company in the last years of her life.
One of Kate's favorite pastimes was knitting, and she delighted in making hundreds of slippers for her family and friends. She also enjoyed baking, reading the newspaper, and visiting friends. Kate had a deep love for the ocean and would often swim or take long walks along the shore. Although she never learned to drive, she could bike for miles, embracing the simple joys of life.
Kate is survived by her older brother Peter Henault, sisters Karen and Cecile, nieces Heidi, Sara, and Elizabeth, Tia, Liana, nephew Nate and many great-nieces and great-nephews. However, she was preceded in death by her beloved sister Regina, who passed away just a few weeks before her. Kate also mourned the loss of her brothers David and John, her nephew Todd, her parents, and her husbands, Edward Bugley and Robert Osier.
In accordance with Kate's wishes, her ashes will be interred with her parents at the Ancient Cemetery in Yarmouth Port, MA, in the spring of 2024. Her family will honor her final resting place.
In memory of Kate's compassionate nature, contributions can be made to a hospice residence of your choice. For many years Kate and her late husband Bob made weekly visits to a local hospice where Bob played music and Kate knitted. Kate's infectious smile and love brightened the lives of those in need, and supporting this cause would be a fitting tribute to her legacy.
Kate's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kind and nurturing spirit will forever be remembered and cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
