A true Puget Sound native, Ken was born in Port Angeles, WA on September 23, 1932, the only child of Fletcher T. Lake and Karen Mildred Hansen. He graduated from Port Angeles High School in 1950. Between 1953-1961, he proudly served in the United States Army Signal Corps.
One lucky summer night in 1957, Ken took a chance on a blind date with Rachel Fields, taking her to the Greenlake Aqua Theater. They were married in 1958, and were together 57 years until she passed away in 2015. Their relationship was an example of love and commitment to all who knew them.
In 1959, Ken graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, continuing on to complete a second degree in Industrial Engineering. The degrees led to a lifelong career with Boeing.
Ken felt music in his heart, and sang with a number of choirs, including the Sound Singers, Edmonds Community Chorale, and Norwegian Male Chorus of Seattle.
With an eye for beauty, Ken was drawn to photography. He also loved skiing, boating, golfing and most of all his family.
His life was filled with love, music, and laughter.
He is survived by his two sons, their children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held January 18 at 2:00 pm at The Norse Home, 5311 Phinney Avenue N, Seattle.
