Guangdong Province, China on December 11th, 1955 and immigrated to Seattle, Washington
with his parents as a young boy. He grew up and resided in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Kene graduated from Franklin High School in 1973 and received a Cosmetology Degree
from Seattle Vocational Institute. He had a career as a hair stylist for many years and with his
business partners opened a salon called the Hair Club in Seattle’s Chinatown/ID.
He loved spending time with his daughters, Alyssa and Bria; he loved music, especially Motown,
soul, and jazz, and his record collection and music knowledge reflected that; he was an avid pool shark; he enjoyed collecting comic books from a young age; he loved martial arts movies and Miyazaki films; he had a joy for cooking, was a foodie at heart, and had a passion for Japanese food and culture.
He is survived by his two daughters, Alyssa Locke and Bria Locke. Kene will be missed dearly, especially his infectious smile and love for everyone. His spirit will forever be in our hearts.
