I only found out about your great loss, and my prayers go out to you and your family. I drove Metro for the last 16 years, and always loved running into Kenny. He was so proud of his family. May the good Lord watch over you all.

Very sorry for the loss of our union leader.

Working at metro I met Francene. From there I got to also know Kenny as well as the rest of the family. When every I would go out to one of the bases he was working at. I would always stop to say hello to him. Over the years I would look forward to talk to him. Our conversations were brief but good. The day he past. I was so shock. Because I remember the week before I saw him and spoke to him. Talking to Francine later that week. The family was taking a short vacation for the holiday with K2. The following week I remember speaking to Francene about the trip. Things were great. Until that Friday of that week. When I heard the news. Just totally shock, really did not know what to think. Just sadness and felt so sorry for Francene. Both were so in love with each other. You can tell how she always spoke of Kenny and just the happiness on her face and in her voice. Kenny will be miss. But his present will never be forgotten

A terrible piece of news I received while traveling was the loss of Kenny. I had known him as an operator at Metro and I trained him in 2 area's of Supervision as well. His dedication to not only his Union duties but the everyday duties at Metro were always observed by many. He was an excellent Union officer and had the best interests of those he represented in all of his thoughts. I pray for the family and other close friends affected by this.

Over the last 30-plus years Kenny and I worked on dozens of union issues: strategizing over grievances and negotiations, lobbying Olympia, attending conventions and caucuses and kicking union politics around--a lot of kicking union politics around. There were times when Kenny had my back when no one else would and it could not possibly do him any political good. I am not the only one he stood by when he did not have to do so. Kenny was always true to himself and to his friends. 

2016 challenged Local 587 with special elections and Metro contract negotiations, along with all the usual issues. After difficult days of working through these huge human puzzles, I was fortunate to spend many evenings in Kenny's office, decompressing and sorting out the distractions so we could focus on what is important. In every one of those conversations Kenny told me how happy he was as President of Local 587, how proud he was of his family and how much he loved Francene. I'm sorry we took so much of his last few months from you. Thanks for sharing him with his thousands of brothers and sisters in Local 587.

Kenny was a great guy, he will be missed by so many coworkers and friends! So sorry for your loss to his loving family. I came to Metro Transit 25 years ago and really didn't know too many folks. I remember Kenny with a welcome smile, hand shake and a word of friendship right away, his smile and easy going style was infectious. Kenny made us feel welcome when we moved into the neighborhood 16 years ago. He was what we all strive to be: a really decent human being. Kenny, may you rest in peace. Francine, K2, Cara, Jonathan, and the rest of the family, may you find comfort.

My sincerest condolences to Francene and the McCormick family. We have all suffered a great loss but I'm sure no one has felt the loss as much as you and your family. Kenny both loved and was proud of all of you and was not shy about telling anyone the same. Both Kenny and I have shared the same occupation as Union leaders for many years and felt the special bond that only individuals that take on that role in life can understand. Everyday since the passing of Kenny I still find it hard to believe that I can no longer pick up the telephone and call him. I find it hard to delete his number from my phone as if doing so would denote finality. Kenny is gone and I ask myself why. Is it because of what we do? I have lost a friend, confidant, and brother - in - arms, and it hurts. For his many friends it hurts. I'm sure the pain and hurt you're suffering as a family is immeasurable. However, I want you to take solace in the fact, and I truly believe, that Kenny will continue to watch over you and protect you,..... because he loved you all so very much.

Francene and family, shock and disbelief is an understatement. We keep hoping to wake up and find this only a bad dream. We have known and been best friends and union allies since the day Kenny came on the property. Your loss is our loss. During the short time since his taking the office of President he once again has brought some light to the end of the tunnel and for our future. Find support in your fond memories of your time together for you were his reason first and the membership a close second. Though we often disagreed on so many issues, I always respected and liked Kenny. He will be truly missed by his coworkers, friends and family.  Rest in Peace,Kenny and my condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear about Kenny, a great guy! We meet at Metro as drivers, at Ryerson Base in the early 90'S and shared many a chat and laugh over the years. Outgoing and personable, he was always a pleasure to be around. He would go on to become a Metro supervisor and eventually a union officer and President. Saying goodbye to someone we love is heartbreaking. May you find comfort in all the special memories shared with Kenny. Keeping you in heart and prayer.

Our hearts were broken to hear about Kenny.  He was a wondrful person to be around for all those baseball games, tournaments, and travel. Never a dull moment, always a smile, and commitment to family were a core part of who Kenny was.  We are all better people for having known him and I consider myself lucky to have been in his world, if even for only a few years.  He will forever be able to watch every baseball game ever played now and watch over Francine, K2 and the entire family.  Rest well - until we meet again.

Kenny, your sense of humor, friendship, and fight for justice will be sorely missed. Francine, thank you for being there for Kenny and your patience with the hundreds of us who worked with Kenny on various committees, who became friends for life. Another angel has taken flight, know that your spirit will be honored by continued work on equity and social justice, and employee rights. My condolences and heartfelt sympathy go out to your family.
