He is survived by his wife Mary, brother Donald of Wenatchee, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Lanette, grandsons Henry and Luke, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In 1965 Ken married the love of his life Mary. They settled down in North Seattle. In 1969 they welcomed their only child Mark into the world.
Ken spent his early years serving in the U.S. Army, working at a lumber yard and paint factory. He became the Office Manager for Local 1094 The Sign Painter’s and Paint Maker’s Union. He enjoyed his job and believed in the importance of the labor movement.
Ken and Mary were active members at Haller Lake Baptist church for 50 years. Ken served in almost every aspect of church leadership. He also spent many years supporting the work of the Converge NW (Formerly Columbia Baptist Conference) especially Fred Lind Manor and Lake Retreat Baptist Camp.
Ken’s favorite place in the world was sitting by a campfire with his coffee, a cookie, and a Louis Lamour book. Camping was always best with friends and family. In retirement Ken and Mary enjoyed travelling, camping, and being very involved with helping to raise their grandsons.
Ken will be remembered for his kindness, selflessness, and generosity. If something needed to be done he was always there to help. In recent years as his health failed he never wanted to be a burden and continued to always put others first up to the end.
