May 18, 1965 – January 7, 2014
Our wonderful son and brother, Kurt, passed away at home after a year long battle with cancer. Kurt graduated from West Seattle High School in 1983, he was the third generation in the Palmer family to do so. He went on to complete the Aviation Maintenance program at South Seattle Community College. He held 3 FAA licenses, Airframe, Powerplant, and Avionics. He started his career at United Airlines in San Francisco, and finished it at Boeing in Renton, with the 737 pre-flight. He was lucky to work in a field he loved his entire career and was highly regarded by those he worked with.
Kurt had many interests but he especially loved fishing, skydiving, scuba diving, playing golf, surfing, playing hockey and soccer, working on models, reading and astronomy. He was also a Civil War and World War II enthusiast. But his passion was Hydroplanes. He helped rebuild the Atlas Van Line unlimited hydroplane and was a proud member of the crew when the vintage boats ran, working in the cockpit. He didn’t live a long life but he lived a full life.
Kurt had a wonderful sense of humor which he kept right up to the end.
He is greatly missed by his parents Terry and Sandy Palmer, his sisters Kim Oberloh (Kurt) and Kerrie Copernoll, his nieces Randi Oberloh-Silva (Gabe) and Veronica Oberloh, his nephews Kyle and Ryan Copernoll and his favorite kitty Bitsy.
