On March 12, 2011, Kyle and his wife, Estella, were exiting a movie theater in Redmond, WA when he experienced shortness of breath and lost consciousness. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, Kyle died of pulmonary thrombosis due to a deep venous thrombosis of the lower extremity.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Estella, her son Thomas and daughter Jacquelyn, Kyle's brother and sister in law Greg and Debbie, their children Erik, Ryan, and Gerrod, his brother in law and sister in law John & Lei Patterson, brother in law & sister in law John & Edna Folks and brother in law Eric Tyler and a host of other family and friends.
While growing up in Pennsylvania, Kyle had an active social life, including his involvement with the Boy Scouts and theater club at his high school. Kyle attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania before moving to the Silicon Valley in 1996. In Silicon Valley, Kyle worked for a few companies, including CEO Computers as a Computer Technician, before joining PlaceWare in 2001. It was through the purchase of PlaceWare by Microsoft that Kyle relocated to Seattle, Washington. With Microsoft, Kyle served as a Senior NT Engineer, the Operations Lead for Live Meeting and EHS, and was serving as a Senior Program Manager at the time of his passing.
Kyle was always there for his friends, always willing to help, and brought laughter at times when you thought for sure that you simply could not laugh. He was one of the most generous people that you would ever hope to meet in your lifetime.
We will all miss you terribly Kyle. You were everything to so many of us and touched hundreds of lives with your unique light. Keep shining on Kyle until the rest of us can catch up to you...
