Laila G. Maudslien

Our dear mother and ?Bestemor? passed away peacefully on November 30, 2004. She was born the second child to Christopher Theodore and Cecilia Lillehaugen Nelson on April 10, 1914. Her Norwegian heritage was proudly lived and displayed as a member of the Daughters of Norway, Solveig Lodge. She graduated high school in 1931 in Whitman North Dakota and worked in Grand Forks in the insurance business after completing Business College. In 1941 she came out to Seattle and met Edwin Maudslien where they both sang in the choir at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They were married July 3, 1942 and four children followed ? Clifton Linda, David Kathy, Paul Nancy, Sonia Robert Brownell. She is also survived by sisters Theresse Lundby of Greenbush, MN and Viola DeMarce of Spring Valley, CA; sister-in-law, Beverly Nelson, on the family farm in North Dakota; grandchildren, Kristofer, Karsten, Justin, Kelly, Erik, Melissa and Scott; great grandchildren, Thane, Steena, Camilla and Kaysen. Her beloved husband, Ed passed away in 1996. A beautiful life, well ? lived. ?Tusen Takk!!?

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Evergreen ? Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle. Services will conclude in the chapel with a coffee hour in the foyer. For those who wish, a brief graveside service will follow the coffee hour at Evergreen Memorial Park.
