

LaReta 'Lore' Curtis, a 35 year resident of Tukwila, Washington, died of natural causes on June 14, 2016 in Des Moines, Washington. Lore was born in Stanley, North Dakota on August 8, 1935, to Webster Bateman and Dorothy Adeline Boe. She married John Harrington in 1951 and they had five children together. Lore married Jack Curtis in 1975 and traveled the world while living abroad in Istanbul, Baghdad, and Tehran. She earned her GED after raising her children and enjoyed art, reading, and traveling all her life. Lore took pride in her home-making and interior design skills, and was a generous mother and mentor to all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her siblings: Raymond 'Corky' Whitney, Bonnie Bateman King, and James Bateman; her children: Danniel Harrington, Michael Harrington, Nicolette Harrington, Nannette Harrington, and Kevin Harrington; and her grandchildren: Lee Harrington, Victor John 'V.J.' Harrington, Laura Elizabeth Shatswell, John 'Jack' Harrington, Connor Harrington, and Hailey Harrington.
A celebration of Lore's life is planned for Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at 14175 56th Ave. S., Tukwila, WA 98168.
Donations in LaReta's memory are being collected for the IKHAMBI CHILDREN ORPHANAGE where she sent clothes and funds for 12 children in the past.
