
Larry Ray born 11/16/40 in Spokane, Washington, and his wife, Judith Ann Monk, born 9/27/42, in Seattle, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash while on vacation in Mexico on September 12.
They met at the University of Washington and would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on 9/14.
Larry received his B.A. and M.A. in civil engineering from the University of Washington. He is a principal in Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone consulting engineering, which has offices in Seattle and Wenatchee. He is an active member and past officer of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and is well respected and admired in his profession. In his leisure time, Larry is an avid outdoorsman, boater, and Husky fan.
Judy is known for her love of life and outgoing personality. She is a lover of the arts and very active in her church and community. She has a passion for tennis and shares Larry?s love of the outdoors.
Together they were members of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Blue Ridge Community, the Seattle Yacht Club, and Harbor Square Tennis Club.
They are survived by their three daughters, Melinda Gardner, Brenda Carlson, and Stephanie Wade, two sons-in-law, Randy Gardner and Troy Carlson, and two granddaughters, Hailey and Kaitlin Carlson, all of Seattle. In addition, Larry is survived by his sister Erline Reha of Bainbridge Island and brother Jeff Wade of Paul, Idaho. Judy is survived by her mother, Anna Monk of Seattle, brother Edwin Monk of Bainbridge Island, and sister Isabel Mays Van Valey of Port Orchard. They also have numerous nieces and nephews, colleagues, and friends.

A memorial service will be held Monday, September 24th, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark?s Episcopal Cathedral, 1245 Tenth Avenue East, Seattle. Childcare will be provided.
