Laura Chin, 85, passed away on May 23, 2013. She was born on Christmas Day 1927 in Seattle and was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended Warren Avenue Elementary and graduated from Queen Anne High School. As a young woman she attended the University of Washington and worked for the Frederick and Nelson department store. She married William L. Chin in 1951 and became a full-time homemaker with the birth of her first child. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed golf and travel. Laura was a member of the Jefferson Park Women's Golf Club. She was an active member and past president of the Gee How Oak Tin Women's Auxiliary.
Laura is survived by her husband William, children Corey, Andrea and Tyler (Maiko), and grandchildren Abby, Lily, and Lauren, all of Seattle; brother Phillip Chinn (JoAnn) of San Jose, CA, brother-in-law Calvin Chin (Lee) of Renton, WA, and sister-in-law Ann Chen of Arlington, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents Gam Wah and Yee Shee Chin and her brother David Chinn (Mary).
