
Born Nov. 4, 1922 in New Castle, Nebraska. Lived in Bothell for over 50 Years. Passed away Aug. 1, 2011 at the age of 88. Larry served in the U.S. Army (Battery B 453rd AAA Battalion) in WWII at Normandy, Ardennes, Central Europe, & Rhineland. Was an active member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV, and Blinded Veterans Assoc. He was a Sheet Metal Worker with the NWSMW Local 66 for 60 years. Preceded in death by his parents Everett & Bessie & his brother Lloyd. Survived by his wife Josephine of over 63 years, Daughters Cindy, Beverly, Laurie, their husbands, 5 grandchildren, 3 granddaughters-in-law 6 great grandchildren, twin sister Lois, & many Nieces & Nephews.
Larry was a very active member of the VFW serving as commander of Bothell Post 7761 and was the commander of VFW WA District 11. He served as the VFW parade chairman for many years, having been responsible for the coordination & carrying of the 27 flags, which represents all of the US flags. Along with other members of the VFW he visited many schools to give a presentation of the history of each of the 27 flags. He enjoyed traveling to his Army Battalion reunions and loved to go camping & fishing. In spite of his failing eyesight he continued working with his tools, always building something. He instilled in his children a strong work ethic, and of service to others. He was a proud grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle who dearly loved the little ones. During the last few years he was able to visit his twin sister in South Dakota and her family in Nebraska. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
