Leon was born in Rhame, ND. After moving to Bothell, he served in the Hospital Corps of the US Navy in WWII. He moved to Seattle after the war, graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Business Administration, and married Ruby, his wife of 66 years.
He worked as a CPA at Coopers & Lybrand before becoming VP of Finance at Sellen Construction Co. After retiring, he enjoyed running, golf, and travel including running the Boston Marathon and travelling to all 7 continents. He was a lifetime member of North Star Council. But his favorite pastime was spending time with his family--his wife: Ruby, his 3 children: Janet (& Dan), Stephen (deceased), Karen (& Jim), and his 3 grandchildren: David, Andrew (& Heidi), and Mark. He especially enjoyed his 90th birthday party in May with a large family reunion.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 11AM at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7050 35th Ave NE, Seattle, 98115 with a reception following.
Memorials can be made in his name to Messiah Lutheran Church-Seattle or Concordia Lutheran School-Seattle.
