

Levert Tyrone Banks Sr. was the first child born to the union of Jefferson Banks Sr. and Lenora Banks on November 15,1954. Levert attended Cleveland High School where he excelled in academics. Levert was a man of many talents and played many sports. He was recruited to play college tennis but that was not his path to follow. He excelled in karate and won many tournaments at the black belt rank. He loved basketball and football and was a key player in family softball games at Madrona Park.
Levert traveled the world as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. He worked in the tech industry for Microsoft and many other tech companies in the Washington area until his retirement.
Levert was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Barbara Banks. Children: Kathaleen, Levert Jr. (Raquel), Isaiah, Elijah (Anna-Maria), and Sofia. Brothers: Jefferson Jr. (Anita), Reginald (Dawn), Robert (Shelley) and Gregory (Cathy). Granddaughters: Marleyna, Mariah, Miya, and Mae. A host of nephews, nieces and other family and friends.
Levert fought his battle with cancer and went to his eternal rest on February 18, 2026. Levert is not far away he won’t answer his phone, but he has a direct line to your heart and is always there.
Levert’s life will be celebrated at 3pm on March 28, 2026 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Fellowship Hall 2116 E. Union St. Seattle, WA 98122.
