Lita C. Canto of West Seattle, Washington, passed away on February 25, 2019. She was born in Baguio City, Philippines on July 25, 1937. She was married to Renato Grio Canto. Lita worked in telecommunications for US West. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Lita’s family was able to be with her during her last days, surrounding her with their love, and comforting her with their prayers.
Lita was a devout Catholic, a “mom” and friend to so many, a sister and aunt, a volunteer, a breast cancer survivor, a loving and dedicated wife to her husband (Renato Sr.) who passed away too early in 1996, and most of all - a wonderful mom to her three children (Renato Jr., Jose’, and Jennifer) and loving grandma to her five grandchildren (Lauren, Adam, Nicholas, Madison and Emily).
The family will be eternally grateful to all the oncologists, nurses and staff who treated Lita (as well as her family) with dignity, love and respect at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Kaiser Permanente, Swedish Hospital and Overlake Hospital. They will also be forever grateful to Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle whose staff lovingly cared for Lita for the last 1.5 years of her life, and for the many friends she made during her stay there.
Lita’s family thanks everyone for their kind words, support and prayers - and that in advance that they will continue to receive. The emptiness their hearts have felt is now overflowing with the outpouring of everyone’s love. ❤️
