She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1942 where she met the love of her life, Jack Hubbard. They were married soon after graduation. Jack joined the army and served in Guam during World War 2. Posy became a telephone operator in Bellingham. After the war was over, Jack and Posy moved to Seattle when Jack started working for Pacific Northwest Bell. The lived in the Greenlake and Northgate neighborhoods. Posy was a stay-at-home-mom who liked to bake, knit and read. She was active as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for her daughters.
Posy was a long-time member of the Northwest Church of Christ. She first started attending the church when it was located in Greenlake, and later moved with the church to Shoreline and Lynnwood. She hosted Bible studies in her home.
One of Posy's greatest heartaches was the death of her three children, Jackie, Jerry and Lee. "Children are not supposed to die before their parents." Even during difficulties in life, Posy continued to hold on to her faith in God. This note in Posy's hand writing was found in her bible, "I have nothing to fear knowing the Lord will not permit evil to take over my life. I will seek the Lord. He offers protection, shelter and encourages me not to be afraid."
During her last year, Posy was well-taken care of at the Golden Autumn Group Home in Shoreline. Memorial contributions in Posy's memory can be made to the Northwest Church, 19820 Scriber Lake Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036. Contributions will go into a benevolent fund to help those in need.
