
Louie LaTorre died on July 13 at the age of 78, after suffering a heart attack. He was born on July 10, 1925 in Seattle, and lived in the Seattle area all his life. In World War II, he served in the 4th Division of the Marine Corps in the Pacific, and fought at Iwo Jima. After the war, he became a barber, and established Louie's Barber Shop in Ballard. Louie loved to barber and shoot the breeze with his many loyal customers, and refused to retire.
Louie was a man of boundless energy, with many interests. He loved to golf, fish, and garden, and was an avid Mariners fan, holding season tickets since the team's inception. But above all, his life was centered around his many friends and his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Frank and Joseph, and his first wife Dolores. He will be deeply missed by his wife Priscilla, his children Joseph and Carolyn LaTorre, his brother James LaTorre and sister Florence Graham, grandchildren Amy James Bortak and Alison Pennington, 2 great-grandchildren, a niece, and a host of friends.
