Louise Irene Maxted, aged 98, went home to be with the Lord on September 17, 2024 in Seattle, Washington. Born on November 3, 1925 to Irene Mildred Benson Dotts and Walter Heaton Dotts, Louise dedicated her life to embodying virtues of selflessness, kindness, warmth, generosity and humor, deeply influenced by her faith. She attended schools in Vallejo, California, Port Orchard and Seattle Washington, culminating her education at Broadway High School. As a young adult she spent time working at Boeing during the war, and later at I. Magnin where she met her future husband, Stanley Emerson Maxted. Throughout her life she was actively involved in her church and community, called to help those in need, to offer a hug to those who needed one, and to witness to those who did not know the Lord.
She enjoyed working on family history and writing her life story and thoughts about her relationship with Jesus. She loved the outdoors whether working in her yard or hiking with her family. She participated in several Bible study groups, including Aglow Women’s Bible Study. She was also involved with her husband in the NW Kiwanis group, particularly the Ft. Casey camper experience for disabled children, demonstrating her commitment to service.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years Stanley, son-in-law Alan Lee Schneider, and granddaughter Anna Kathleen Schneider. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Schneider of Seattle and Kathleen Elliott (Steve) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; grandchildren Joseph Schneider (Cindy) of Mill Creek, Washington, Ryan Marshall (Amanda) of Lamy, New Mexico and Jan Mohan (Nate) of Haines, Alaska, along with six great-grandchildren. Louise’s life was a testament to her faith and the love she had for her family and community. Her legacy of kindness and dedication to helping others will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery in Seattle, Washington on October 21, 2024 at 11 am.
