Lucille Virginia Dennison Trenor passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on October 26, 2020 at Maple Villa Adult Family Home, in Lynnwood, WA, where she had been cared for with love and respect for the last 12 years. Lucille was born in LaCrosse, WI Feb 25, 1924, and grew up near the Mississippi River, where her father taught her to fish and catch snapping turtles. Education, music, and gardening were important family values, as was her Lutheran faith. She was an avid reader all her life, and maintained a neighborhood plant hospital where the neighbors would bring their sick and dying plants for her to revive. While in college at the beginning of World War II, she met a dashing Army Lieutenant, Cameron Trenor (deceased 1989), and together they raised five sons: Cameron Jr. (Sumiko Nagumo), Melvyn (Deborah Nedelman) Gregory (deceased 1963 at age six), Scott (Jill Trenor), and Daryl. After insuring that they had completed their college educations, Lucille worked at the UW Daily newspaper for many years. During that time she was active in the Seattle Women’s Movement, and hosted UW graduate students from all over the world. She was devoted to her family, and adored her grandchildren Aaron, Eden, Kyle, and Sierra. Lucille spent her final years beatifically, knowing that she had lived a full and meaningful life. At her request there was a private family graveside service.
