Lynn Frank—beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt—passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, with her youngest daughter, Stephanie, by her side.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lynn was the youngest daughter of Bernard and Ella Mae Schmitzer and was always proud to call Pittsburgh her hometown. She attended grade school, high school, and nursing school there, beginning a lifelong calling to care for others. Her adventurous spirit later led her across the country to Sitka, Alaska, where she began working as a Registered Nurse at Mt. Edgecumbe and met the love of her life, Mason Luke Frank.
After Mason passed in 2020, Lynn was lovingly cared for by Stephanie and her husband, Kevin Doyle, in their home. Their devotion brought her comfort, dignity, and joy in her final years, and the family is deeply grateful for the compassion they showed her every day.
For Lynn, nursing was more than a profession—it was who she was. She cared for countless people throughout her career with patience, warmth, and deep empathy. Whether caring for patients, friends, or family, she had a remarkable gift for making people feel safe, valued, and truly cared for.
In the days since her passing, family and friends have shared stories that all reflect the same truth: Lynn was one of the kindest and most loving people they had ever known.
She was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a joyful great-grandmother, cherishing her family and every moment spent with them. As an aunt, she offered steady encouragement, humor, and love that reached far beyond her immediate family.
Lynn is survived by her daughters, Dr. Elaine Frank (Dr. Vernon Finley) and Stephanie Frank (Kevin Doyle), and her son, Dean Frank; her grandchildren, Jerome Finley, Olivia Finley, Elise Frank, and Emilio Frank; who brought her immense joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Ella Mae Schmitzer; her sister, Carole Seney; her beloved son, Barry Louis Frank; her great-grandson, Joseph Luke Frank; and her husband, Mason Luke Frank.
Lynn’s life was defined by compassion, generosity, and love. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply. She will be forever missed and always remembered.
